Drivers Urged To Observe Caution In Kilkee Amid Pedestrian Light Outages

Clare County Council is urging motorists to observe caution in Kilkee due to pedestrian light outages in the seaside town.

It comes as the flashing amber Belisha beacons and warning lights on the Carrigaholt Road are currently of order

A contractor has been engaged to carry out the necessary repair works, which are expected to be completed in the coming days.

In the interim , the local authority is appealing to motorists to treat the the crossing as a zebra pedestrian crossing, slow down on approach and to be extra vigilant in in the area of pedestrians crossing.

While pedestrians using the crossing are advised to place one foot on the crossing to indicate that you wish to cross, to watch carefully for approaching traffic and to wait until traffic has stopped before crossing.
