A driver in North Clare has been found travelling over 40 kilometres above the speed limit.
Gardaí conducted a national speed enforcement operation called National Slowdown Day for 24 hours on Tuesday from 12am to 11:59pm.

A total of 1,038 motorists were found to be going in excess of the applicable speed limit, 377 of which were intercepted by Gardaí.
Among those caught speeding was a driver found to be travelling at 121 kilometres per hour in an 80 zone on the R478 at Derreen in Liscannor.
