A West Clare business owner believes drastic changes are needed in hospitality, as recruitment becomes the new restriction for businesses in the sector.
As part of efforts to boost recruitment, the Armada Hotel in Spanish Point is offering maternity leave and private health insurance, with the hope of retaining existing staff and enticing new employees into the sector.
Owner and Managing Director John Burke believes others in the sector will have to do more to to hold on to skilled workers in the wake of the pandemic, such as improvved pay and conditions.
