A logistics centre for humanitarian aid, set to be based at Shannon, and a flagship international scale tourism project have been included among the proposals in the new Draft Clare Development Plan
The document, which outlines an overall strategy for planning and sustainable development until 20-17, was unveiled last evening and also includes a proposal that Clare adopts a joint housing approach with Limerick City.
Plans to draw up a tourism strategy for the Lough Derg area, and the addition of a new section dealing with the Clare campus at UL are also included
The document is to go on display in council offices and on-line until Wednesday November 3rd after which it is expected to be formally adopted
Mayor of Clare Christy Curtin says it is a vitally important plan for the county going forward.
