Around 120 runners and walkers, and their familiar orange t-shirts, have travelled from Clare today to take part in the Dublin City Marathon and raise funds for one of the county’s best known charities.

Clare Crusaders was founded in 2005 and provides a variety of therapies to almost 200 Clare children with special needs from it’s base in Barefield.
However, it’s totally reliant on fundraising activities to generate the quarter of a million euro required to run the service each year.
One of those taking part today, Siobhan O’Reilly, says the volunteers are determined to go the extra mile for the charity.
