Clare FM is celebrating once again following a hugely successful night at this year’s IMRO Radio Awards.
The station’s Programme Director, Padraic Flaherty, has been honoured with two Gold Awards at a glittering ceremony at the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny this Friday evening.
Produced by Flaherty, The Hidden Disability, a radio documentary exploring Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, or FASD, and its lifelong impact on individuals and families, took Gold in the Documentary category.
Meanwhile, Beauty or Beast, another radio documentary produced by Padraic Flaherty, took Gold in the Music, Arts & Culture Documentary category.
The programme focuses on the Púca, from its arrival in Ennistymon to its eventual move to Carron.
Entries for this year’s IMRO Radio Awards came from across the full breadth of the sector, including national, regional, local, public service and commercial stations.
The shortlisted entries were selected by an independent judging panel, which reviewed submissions from across the island of Ireland.
