A Doora superintendent has offered assurances that policing in Clare won’t be diminished by the recent Garda merger.
As of the 27th of August, Clare and Tipperary’s Garda divisions have been merged with the majority of the county making of the Clare Community Engagement Areas while communities served by Killaloe and Scariff Garda stations fall under the East Clare – Tipperary North Community Engagement Area.
The headquarters of the latter community engagement area will be Nenagh Garda Station and Doora native Superintendent Ollie Baker will take charge of this area.
Superintendent Baker, who is also an All-Ireland winning hurler with Clare, says the merger will not mean communities in East Clare on the Tipperary border will have their resources reduced.
