Locals in Doonbeg are hopeful that the west Clare village will be included as part of US President Donald Trumps visit to Ireland.
The White House announced last night that Mr Trump will come to Ireland as part of a wider trip to Europe as he participates in a November 11th Commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armistice that ended the fighting in World War I.
It’s reported that the visit here will be a brief one and while the itinerary is yet to be fully confirmed, it’s expected it could include the Trump International Golf Links and Hotel in Doonbeg.
Local business man Tommy Comerford says the US President would be given a warm welcome to the area.
