Donald Trump, the high-profile owner of the five-star golf resort in the West Clare vaillage, is already the Republican Party's presumptive nominee, and tomorrow he will announce his running mate and proposed Vice President.
One of those in the runnin is Indiana Governor Mike Pence, who also has roots in Doonbeg.
His Great-Grandparents emigrated from there near the end of the 19th Century, and in August 2013 the Governor visited Doonbeg along with his wife and children.
