Newly-adoped bye-laws for Doolin Pier include measures which mean that ferry operators there will have to maintain a "positive and welcoming" experience for visitors.

The laws include a code of conduct, compelling ticket sellers to act in a professional and courteous manner, as well as rules prohibiting "unsavoury communications" by ticket sales operators.
A new six million euro pier was opened at Doolin last year, and it's hoped the improved facilities will boost tourism and allow more passengers take ferries to the Aran Islands.
