A meeting of the Fianna Fáil Parliamentary Party is taking place on Wednesday evening to discuss the fallout of Jim Gavin’s withdrawal from the race.

Cork TD James O’Connor has issued a statement suggesting the former Dublin football manager became the party’s nominee due to “extensive pressure” put on TDs and senators by the Taoiseach and Jack Chambers.
Tulla-based Deputy Timmy Dooley says this wasn’t his experience.
