Trump International Golf Links and Hotel has filed accounts to the Companies Office, and say that its golf course won't be fully operational until next year, meaning further losses are likely this year.

The Irish Times says much of the losses are due to the write-off of start-up costs incurred in the resort's first year since it was taken over by the billionaire businessman.

Speaking last night, Eric Trump says he "couldn't be more pelased with with the financial performance of Doonbeg" and that "the performance has been exceptional".

The company employed 208 people last year, and they were paid a total of over four million euro last year.
