Singer Dolores O'Riordan, who was arrested at Shannon Airport this morning, has been admitted to the Midwest Regional Hospital in Limerick.
The Cranberries star was detained after allegations that a flight attendant was assaulted on an Aer Lingus flight from JFK in New York, to Shannon.
Gardai were called to the airport just before six o'clock this morning and a Garda was also allegedly assaulted in the incident.
A spokesperson for Shannon Airport has confirmed that it was alerted to an incident on board the daily morning Aer Lingus service from New York to Shannon on its arrival at Shannon and says the matter is now being dealt with by an Garda Síochána.
