Doherty urged to outline Mid West Health plan

There are calls on the new "health supremo" charged with overseeing the Mid West hospitals group to outline her plan of action to tackle A&E overcrowding and budgetary overspends.

Ann Doherty, the former head of the National Hospitals Office has taken up her role as the new CEO of the region’s hospitals at Ennis Limerick and Nenagh.

Ms Doherty has one budget for all the Mid West facilities, a single employment ceiling ,the power to transfer resources within the hospital group, while the health minister also state that a five person support group for the CEO would be put in place
