Dog Fouling Said To Be Undermining Work Of Tidy Towns In East Clare

The ongoing scourge of dog fouling is said to be undermining the work of Tidy Towns committees in two east Clare villages.

Both O’Callaghan’s Mills and Kilkishen have become the latest parts of the county to highlight the problem.

Both footpaths and green areas in the two villages are said to have become blighted by dog waste in recent weeks.

As a result both Kilkishen and O Callaghan’s Mills community councils have issued statements appealing to people to clean up after their pets.

Local Fine Gael Councillor, Conor Ryan says the issue is plaguing the otherwise pristine villages.

O’Callaghan’s Mills GAA has also reported serious issues with dog waste on its playing premises.

Visitors to the club grounds have reportedly left their dogs run free around the premises without supervision or adequate attention to their pets fouling on the pitches.

Member of the GAA club and Tidy Towns, Pat O’Brien says now is the right time to remind people of their responsibilities with both the GAA and grass cutting seasons beginning.
