Divers have been deployed at a number of lakes across Clare to assess the county’s drinking water supplies.
There has been significant pressure on water supplies in parts of the county since the heatwave, and Irish Water says they’re continuing to operate on a knife-adge.

The utility has been gathering information, particularly at Castle Lough, which supplies the Shannon and Sixmilebridge areas, Doo Lough that supplies West Clare and Lickeen Lake supplying Ennistymon and North Clare.
