A disqualified motorist using a fake driving licence has been arrested by Clare Gardaí after failing roadside drug and alcohol tests.
During a patrol in Ennis last night, the roads policing unit stopped an Audi soft-top convertible after it triggered an alert for no insurance on their Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) System.
The vehicle wasn’t insured as the motorist, who issued a fake licence with a fake name to Gardaí was already serving a driving ban.
After failing roadside tests for alcohol and cannabis, the driver was arrested, their car was seized, and a court date will follow.
