Disposable Incomes In Clare Hit Lowest Level In Seven Years

Clare residents have seen their disposable incomes drop to their lowest level in seven years.

New figures from the CSO show that in 2011, people here had an average of just over €17,500 remaining after taxes and social insurance contributions were paid.

This is the lowest number since 2004.

Incomes here in 2011 were €1,600 lower than the national average, and €3,900 less than in Dublin, where the highest incomes were recorded.
