Disappointment Over TII Decision On Blake’s Corner Plans

Disappointment has been expressed after Transport Infrastructure Ireland's decision to reject plans aimed at resolving long standing traffic issues at Blake's Corner.

The national authority has described the plan, which included the construction of a new bridge 80 metres upstream from the existing Ennistymon Bridge on the N67, as an "interim solution".

The TII believes the two-phase plan "doesn’t cater for long term growth or vulnerable road user demands".

Clare County Council says the project Steering Committee will now try to identify solutions to the specific areas of concern.

Councillor Bill Slattery believes a considerable amount of work has been carried out on the proposals and he says he can't understand the decision.
