Irish Water has confirmed that a boil water notice affecting a number of homes in the Carron area has been now been lifted following the completion of remedial works at the treatment plant and subsequently satifactory monitoring results.
However, a boil water notice put in place on the Turlough Water Supply in July remains in place, with no clear indication of when it will be lifted.
Councillor Pat Hayes says the delay is hugely disappointing for the people of New Quay, Aughinish and surrounding areas.
