The money in question comes from IPB, the insurer of local authorities but, in the same time, premiums paid to this group by Clare County Council have amounted to nearly 3.1 million euro, an amount greater than the payouts themselves.

Clare County Coucnil has committed to investigating the issue, which Clare Colleran Molloy insists is a necessity.
