It’s claimed disabled people in Clare have become prisoners in their own homes because of cuts in welfare payments and support services
Disability campaigners will meet in Ennis today to oppose cuts to personal assistant supports which offer a disabled person access to an assistant to help with domestic chores and social activities outside the home.

The services in Clare are largely provided by the Irish Wheelchair association, but around 120 Clare people are now dealing with cuts to their personal assistant hours – meaning many have little chance of leaving the home socially.
