The Department of Integration has moved to put rumours to rest regarding the future use of a prominent Shannon building.
It follows local speculation that the owners of Phoenix House were planning to accommodate International Protection Applicants.

The facility previously hosted over 70 Ukrainian Refugees, but this arrangement ceased last June and most residents were relocated to Lisdoonvarna.
In a statement to Clare FM, The Department of Integration says it “has not received an offer of accommodation for the property” and that the property is not currently being examined for international protection use.
