Deliberations Begin in Ennis Murder Trial

A Jury has begun its deliberations in the trial of an Ennisman accused of murdering a Polish national.

40-year-old Michael Maughan of Stone Court, Ennis, has pleaded guilty to manslaughter but not guilty to the murder of Piotr Nowakowski at Sandfield Mews in the town on July 23rd last year.

He also denies assaulting another man, Declan O’Dea, at the same address on the same date.

The jury of seven women and five men has now been considering its verdict for over an hour at the Central Criminal Court.
