Supermac's boss Pat McDonagh recently secured planning permission for the development off the M18, but now faces another challenge, after the decision was appealed to An Bord Pleanála.

The businessman is looking to replicate the success of his Barack Obama Plaza in Moneygall by opening up a similar facility at Kilbreckan, Doora near Junction 12 of the M18, with the creation of up to 100 jobs.

An Bord Pleanala has received appeals from local landowner Shane Brigdale, as well as others on behalf of the Applegreen chain and the Claureen Service Station in Ennis.
