Local representatives will vote on the Council's preferred route for Phase Two of the Limerick Northern Distributor Road, which has been strongly opposed in a number of communities.

The road aims to improve road access to the North of the city, but opponents say it will dissect the village of Parteen, and be built over flood plans in Clonlara.

Local Fianna Fáil Councillor Cathal Crowe says the road will be devastating for both communities.
