The death has taken place of former Kerry TD Jackie Healy-Rae.

The former Independent, who was one of the most colourful politicians of his era, had been ill for some time, and passed away at Kerry General Hospital this afternoon.
Jackie Healy-Rae served in the Dáil from 1997 until his retirement from politics.
He was 83 years old.
