Tributes have been paid to Clareman and former Carlow-Kilkenny TD John Browne.
The former Fine Gael TD, Senator and Carlow County Councillor was born in Kilmihil, and died this morning at the age of 82.
John Browne attended St. Flannan’s College, and his daughter Carmel is currently principal in Kimihil National School, while he also has other family in the Kilmihil area.

As well as serving as a TD for 13 years from 1989, John Browne had previously served as a Senator, having been appointed in 1983 by then Taoiseach Garret Fitzgerald.
