They’ll play a pivotal role once the legislation is enacted in cases when a pregnant woman is seeking an abortion – because she’s suicidal.
13 psychiatrists – including 3 with a perinatal speciality and representatives from the College of Psychiatrists in Ireland – will appear before the cross party Health Committee at Leinster House this morning.
The committee’s final report will be used by the Government – to decide whether or not to make changes to the draft legislation.
