New figures show a slowdown in the rate of growth of COVID-19 in Clare.
The number of coronavirus cases recorded in Clare last week was the lowest in over a month.
This data, published by the CSO, related to the dates in which people first report symptoms of COVID-19 and show seven new confirmed cases of the virus were registered here last week.
That’s down from 21 and 19 in the weeks before that, and is the lowest weekly figure in Clare since the week of July 17th.
The data only covers up to last Friday, the 21st, and since then the Department of Health has announced at least nine more cases of COVID-19 in Clare.
Previously some cases announced in those daily updates have turned out to not be recent diagnoses, but even if all of these cases are new, the trend of a fall in COVID cases here looks to be continuing.
Since the beginning of the pandemic in March, and up to last Friday, there have been 40 deaths related to COVID-19 in Clare, and 445 cases.
No deaths related to COVID-19 have been recorded here since the start of July.
