It’s claimed a darkness has descended on the community of Kilkee, after a man lost his life in a tragic accident at the cliffs.
Emergency services were alerted shortly after three o’clock yesterday afternoon, after the man in his fifties, who it’s understood was fishing at the time, fell into the sea at Dunlicky.

His body has since been removed to University Hospital Kerry, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
A second person, who tried to help the man became stranded, but was later airlifted to safety.
Local Councillor Cillian Murphy says that Kilkee and the Loop Head peninsula is a sombre place following the incident.
