One of the highest concentrations of radon gas ever detected in Europe has been found in a house in Munster.
A new survey by the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland found a house in Castleisland in Kerry had average radon concentration that is 185 times greater than what is deemed to be safe.
The study also identified 800 homes across the country well above the safe limit for the cancer causing gas.
In the past a number of Clare locations have also been identified has having levels of radon above the safe limit, particularly in the Ennis and north Clare areas
