An Ennis-based GP has warned that the binge-drinking culture is getting out of hand in the town.

President of the Irish College of General Practitioners Tony Cox is concerned about future health implications for young people in particular, who he says are drinking hazardous amounts of alcohol.
He's pointed to the consumption of alcohol at home, ahead of a night out, as being a major contributory factor and says up to 17 units of alcohol is on offer for less than ten euro at some off-licences.
Dr Cox says dangerous behaviour is clearly evident on the streets of Ennis.
