Dáil Hears Plight Of Clare Students Unable To Access Special Schools

It’s claimed Clare children with complex needs have been left in a void due to a lack of resources and school spaces.

It follows reports of parents in this county travelling over 40km to find spaces for children with autism and down syndrome at second level.

A campaign has since been launched to establish a new secondary school catering for special needs in West Clare.

Speaking in the Dáil, Shannon Sinn Féin TD Donna McGettigan outlined the case of several constituents.
