Daa chief accuses Ryanair boss of trying to fool public about Shannon deal

The Head of the Dublin Airport Authority has accused Ryanair boss Micheal o Leary of trying to con the Clare public into beliving he’s offering a good deal to boost passenger numbers at Shannon.

David Dilger, who attended a Shannon Chamber event in Bunratty today ruled out accepting the offer put forward by the low cost carrier , describing the proposals as unsustainable.

The airline’s offering to operate up to 14 extra routes from the region but wants managment to pay for every extra passenger it brings in and a rebate on the multi million euro settlement it made over its withdrawal from Shannon.

Ryanair boss Micheal o Leary also turned up Bunratty today ahead of a media event in Limerick to plug the deal but speaking to Clare Fm DAA head David Dilger says its simply unworkable.

However Michael O Leary who again insisted that Shannon Airport is dying claims that the DAA is standing by and letting it happen
