The Limerick man died at his home in North Carolina in a domestic incident earlier this month – police are not looking for anyone outside the home in relation to his death.

His children, Jack and Sarah, had been in the care of their stepmother Molly Martens until a guardianship hearing on Monday, when they were handed over to Mr Corbett's sister Tracey Lynch and her husband David.

Reporter with the Irish Daily Mail Catherine Fegan is in North Carolina – she says the children's passports were handed over on Monday – but they cannot be flown home yet.
