US Vice President Preparing To Fly Out Of Shannon Airport After Doonbeg Stay

US Vice President Mike Pence is departing from Shannon Airport today, after spending the night in Doonbeg mingling with locals.

The Vice President and his wife Karen, along with his mother Nancy and his sister Ann, arrived in the West Clare village last night, after his talks with the Taoiseach and President in Dublin concluded.

The Pences have strong ancestral links to Doonbeg, with Mr Pence’s maternal great-grandmother growing up in the village, while he spent some time working in Morrissey’s Pub in the 1980s.
