Spancilhill Fair To Proceed After Insurance Cover Obtained

The Spancilhill Horse Fair will proceed this year as planned.

Members of the local authority have been informed of the move after fears were expressed the event may not have been able to proceed due to rising insurance costs.

It’s understood public liability insurance will be provided by Clare County Council to allow the Fair to take place, which first began in 1621.

The event will take place on June 23rd for the first time since 2019, having been postponed for the last two years due to pandemic restrictions.
