Shannon Heritage workers are to stage a second protest today due to what they say is a lack of progress on the transferring of its sites to the portfolio of Clare County Council.
It comes after it emerged the Minister for Public Expenditure has now become involved in discussions for the Government to provide a funding package to the local authority to complete the deal.
It’s understood Michael McGrath has met with Minister for Local Government Darragh O’ Brien in recent days as attempts continue to resolve the current impasse.
