Furious rows have erupted in the Dáil over how to address a cost of living crisis which is likely to only get worse.

Ministers have admitted the looming threat of war in Ukraine is likely to push fuel prices even higher.

David Horgan, Managing Director of Petrel, a fossil fuel exploration company, says it will happen quickly.

The Government though says there won’t be another intervention from Ministers until the budget, and it won’t get involved in chasing inflation.

Meanwhile, an anti-war campaigner with the Shannonwatch group believes Irish neutrality faces being compromised by the Government’s current stance on the potential conflict.

Edward Horgan, who has long campaigned for US military to no longer be permitted to use Shannon Airport, claims Ireland is ‘taking sides’ in the matter.
