New Report Finds 14 Clare Bathing Areas Have Excellent Or Good Water Quality

A new report has found that 14 Clare bathing areas have excellent or good water quality.

The EPA has today published its Bathing Water Quality in Ireland report for 2022, which shows that water quality at the majority of the country’s bathing waters meets or exceeds the appropriate standards.

Bishopsquarter, Fanore, White Strand – Miltown, White Strand – Doonbeg, Lahinch, Kilkee, Carrigaholt, Spanish Point, Quity, Seafield – Quilty, Ballyalla Lake – Ennis , Ballycuggeran – Killaloe and Mountshannon all reveived an excellent rating.

The report also recorded a good quality rating at Cappa Pier in Kilrush last year.

Programme manager with the EPA, Mary Gurrie says investment in wastewater infrastructure across the country over the last number of years has improved the quality.
