A working group, set up to tackle the mica and pyrite building blocks controversy, will meet for the first time later.
The Taoiseach and Housing Minster will be in attendance for the online meeting, which involves affected homeowners from Donegal and Mayo, along with representatives from local authorities and the Department of Housing.
Around 50 homes in Clare are believed to be affected by Pyrite, as well as two council housing estates, but so far the Defective Concrete Blocks Grant Scheme isn’t open to homeowners in this county.
There’ll be 6 meetings in total over the next 5 weeks, with the group set to review the compensation scheme and suggest changes.
Spokesperson for the Mica Action Group, Michael Doherty, says they’ll be putting forward their case for 100 per cent redress.
