New figures from the Central Statistics Office shows the median price of houses in this county in the month of September was over €222,000.

It’s an increase of over 25 percent in the space of a year, though is a slight drop on August, when prices stood at €227,000.

First time buyers are paying slightly lower on average, at €215,000.

However, the data shows median prices for homes in Clare have jumped by more than 85 percent in just five years, and are more than three times the figure seen back in 2015, though it should be noted activity in the property market was slower at that point.

Activity seems to be slower now too than last year in this county.

The CSO says 78 sales took place here in September, with 96 being registered in August.

However, it’s a 43 percent drop from the number of transactions that took place in the same month last year, signalling a possible stall in the market locally.
