Revised plans are hastily being put in place this weekend ahead of the sooner-than-expected arrival of US Vice President Mike Pence.
His plane, Air Force Two, is to touch down at Shannon on Monday, beginning a two-day visit in which he will meet both President Higgins and Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.
He’s also expected to stay in the Trump Doonbeg resort, in what will be his latest visit to the village, his ancestral home.
