Funeral Takes Place This Morning For Young Clare Lifeguard

The funeral takes place today of a young lifeguard, who lost his life while surfing in West Clare earlier this week.

20-year-old Fionn O’Brien died after getting into difficulty at Lough Donnell in Quilty on Monday morning.

He’ll be laid to rest following 11 o’clock Funeral Mass in the Church of Our Lady, Rosleven this morning.

He’s survived by his parents Pat and Michelle, brothers and sister.

Lifeguard Stations will be closed on all of the county’s Council beaches today until 2 o’clock, as a mark of respect, with Bishop’s Quarter staying closed for the full day.
