Fresh Calls For Investigation Into Development Of Deep Seas Port In Clare

Fresh calls are being made for an investigation into the possibility of developing a deep seas port in Clare.

The Shannon-Foynes Port Company has been awarded over €2.3 million in co-funding under the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility to conduct a feasibility study for a new deep-water berth at Foynes Port.

There are mounting calls in Clare, however, for a similar study to be carried out at Moneypoint, particularly in light of the decision to develop an off-shore wind farm there.
