A Sixmilebridge housing estate is to be further protected from flooding as a result of over €63,000 in government funding.
The OPW has confirmed that the money will be provided to raise the culvert and 142 metre embankment that protects the Gort na Null housing estate.
Previously, the area was subjected to flooding during times of heavy rainfall and at times, a pump system had to be installed to keep the waters at bay.
