Ennis-Based Afghan To Join Demonstration Calling On Irish Government Not To Recognise Taliban Rule

An Ennis-based Afghan citizen is calling on the Irish government to make it clear it does not recognise Taliban rule in his home country.

Sayed Farid Sanai, who lives in direct provision in the county town, will be among hundreds of Afghans marching in Dublin this weekend in a peaceful protest against the regime.

A recent UN Security Council meeting, chaired by Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney, voted for a resolution on peacekeeping transitions to help resolve conflicts.
