Dumping Of Domestic Waste In Kilkee’s Public Bins A ‘Huge Problem’

A call has been made for measures to tackle the blight of domestic waste dumped in public bins in Kilkee.

Local Fianna Fáil Councillor Cillian Murphy has defended the council’s management of resources, saying that extra staff have been deployed to monitor the facilities during the busy summer season.

It follows complaints from visitors to the coastal town, who contacted Clare FM to say that bins were ‘overflowing’ when temperatures soared at the weekend.

Councillor Murphy insists that the level of litter generated by tourists and residents could easily be managed, but he believes that bins are being filled with household rubbish.
