Clare County Council has been urged to consider further project which could address decline in Shannon.
The call has come from Junior Minister in the Department of Local Government John Paul Phelan, during a Seanad debate on the town.
Calls for an enhancement of the public areas of Shannon were made by Dublin Senator Victor Boyhan, on foot of conversations he’s had with Councillor Gerry Flynn
The government last year granted funding for a local area plan, amid controversy that the advanced plans for the Shannon Venue project weren’t advanced.
However, Minister Phelan says more money could come to Shannon in the near future
